EAT
EAT is a new concept for school meals in Copenhagen’s public schools, which will help to develop a happy and healthy food culture in schools. The food should contribute positively to the learning environment and wellbeing of both pupils and staff.
In developing the concept for EAT there has been made extensive ethnographic studies of children and teachers at schools. To get closer to on pupils, their habits and attitudes to food made Story Field photo and video diary surveys with students on two schools that tested two different food concepts.
Students were provided with camera phones, with which they documented their eating habits for 14 days. At the same time they wrote online food diaries to their videos and pictures. The pupils’ extensive photo, video and text material was used in films that the pupils themselves produced. The films will inform stakeholders of the project and be shown on big screens on schools as part of the launch of EAT and on eat-tv.dk.
